Last week, I was asked to attend Dr. Amir Sabongui's seminars on dating, as a photographer. The first seminar was for women; the second was for men. To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect since I had never attended an event like this.

So I sat and listened. It wasn't long before I thought to myself “hmmm, interesting”. I was intrigued and captivated by what Dr. Sabongui was saying. So much so that I had to be reminded by my colleague to start shooting some photos.

I will admit that I came to this event with some preconceived notions and a dose of skepticism. By the end however, my initial doubts had completely vanished. I came away from the smart and thought-provoking event with a positive attitude and some life skills that I've already begun applying in my everyday life. Ladies, do you remember the traits that make us appealing to men?
(hint: s_____, p_____, c_____)?

What Dr. Sabongui revealed was not a magical solution nor a secret formula for meeting people and successful dating. His seminar was more like a sharing of intelligent, insightful and resourceful advice on bettering ourselves in all areas of our lives. One of my favorite quotes from the evening: “The way you do anything is the way you do everything”. So simple, yet so true.

Dr. Sabongui's personal stories and real-life experiences connected with everyone in the room at one moment or another. During his discussions ranging from first impressions to body language to what women and men look for in the opposite sexes, people chuckled and nodded, as they saw a bit of themselves in his narratives. Dr. Sabongui's down-to-earth presence combined with his sound advice made for an educational, stimulating, and fun experience. All in all, Dr. Sabongui's seminars were not what I expected. They were much more.
